Meet the team

Behind the Comprehensive Plan Update is a team of experts.

These planners will lay the groundwork, considering all aspects of the Smart Planning Principles, gather public input to ensure resident voices are heard, and help shape the Comprehensive Plan to reflect the needs of Marion County.

Andrew Collings, AICP

Andrew is Executive Director of the Mid-Iowa Planning Alliance for Community Development. With over 10 years of planning experience in the state of Iowa, Andrew will provide an advisory role to the Marion County Comprehensive Plan.

Zhi Chen, AICP

Zhi is a Senior Planner at the Mid-Iowa Planning Alliance for Community Development. He is the Project Lead for the Marion County Comprehensive Plan.

Sophia Wepking

Sophia is currently interning at the Mid-Iowa Planning Alliance for Community Development. Currently she is a junior at Iowa State University studying Community and Regional Planning with a minor in Political Science. Sophia is the president of the Undergraduate Community & Regional Planning Club.
